Be deliberate about one thing: until the association officially adopts Lantern, this is the committee’s working space, not the association’s official record. Anything that must be an official record, or that requires formal submissions and signatures, belongs on an official community. Boards claim committee spaces exactly for that reason.
Common questions
Is this the association’s official record?
Not on a community-run space. Treat it as the committee’s working space: agendas, drafts, bids, notes, and coordination. Official records, formal notices, and anything requiring signatures belong to the association, which means the board needs to claim the space first. We would rather be clear about that than let a committee assume otherwise.
Do we need board approval to start?
No. Coordinating a group of willing committee members is not governance. The space is labeled community-run throughout.
Is it free?
