Do I need to be on the HOA board to use this?

Do neighbors need an account to RSVP?
They open the link and RSVP. Creating an account is only needed if they want notifications and the full community app.
Can I reach people who are not on Facebook?
That is the point. Invites travel by link, QR code, and email, and reminders go out by push and email, so attendance no longer depends on a social feed.
Can I collect money for tickets or supplies?
Not on a community-run space. Payments unlock when an HOA officially adopts Lantern, because money belongs to the association, not an individual resident.
What happens to my events if the HOA takes over?
They keep running exactly as they are. The community-run label drops and your calendar becomes the official community calendar.
