Lantern HOA
Court scheduling

Book the court without the group text.

Tennis does not fit a clipboard. Sets run long, ladder matches need two schedules to agree, and the pro’s Tuesday clinic quietly owns a court nobody else knew was taken. One live schedule fixes all three.

Free to start No board approval needed Ladders and lessons No app download to book

Tennis breaks the sign-up sheet

A sheet with thirty-minute lines does not describe how tennis is actually played. A doubles set runs ninety minutes, a ladder match has to be negotiated between two players before either can claim a court, and the standing lesson block is invisible until you walk up and find the court occupied.

So the courts get coordinated in four places at once: a sheet on the gate, a ladder spreadsheet, the pro’s text thread, and whoever happens to be standing there at 8am. None of them can see the others.

How it works

Three steps, and you are running. No procurement, no implementation project.

Add your courts

Set slot length to something tennis-shaped, sixty or ninety minutes, and the hours courts are open for play.

Block lessons and ladders

Put standing clinics and ladder nights on the schedule so they stop surprising people.

Post the QR at the gate

Players scan, see every court at once, and book. Nothing to download.

What you get

Everything below is included from the start.

Slots that fit tennis

Sixty, ninety, or one hundred twenty minute blocks, so a doubles set is one reservation instead of three.

Ladder matches

Both players see the same schedule, so arranging a match stops being a four-text negotiation.

Lessons and clinics

Reserve recurring blocks for the pro and let players RSVP to clinics instead of guessing.

Fair-use limits

Per-household caps per day or week, applied automatically, so no group can own every prime-time slot.

No double-bookings

Confirmations take a per-court lock, so two players can never claim the same slot.

Wet courts, one tap

Mark a court closed for standing water or resurfacing and everyone booked is told immediately.

You do not need the HOA to start

Scheduling court time among the people who play is coordination, not governance, so a resident can set it up today. Your group is clearly labeled community-run, not official HOA communication.

When the board is ready to claim it, the schedule keeps running exactly as it is and the association gets the rest of the platform.

Common questions

Do I need board approval to set this up?

No. Arranging court time between players is coordination among the people who show up. Your space is labeled community-run so it is never mistaken for official HOA communication, and the board can claim it later.

Is it free?

Setting up your courts costs nothing. If the association later decides to make Lantern official for the whole community, that is a separate conversation with the board.

Our courts are painted for both tennis and pickleball. Can we handle that?

Yes, and this is the single most common source of court conflict we hear about. Set the shared court up once and both groups book the same calendar, so a pickleball round robin and a tennis ladder can no longer both think they have Court 2 at 9am.

Can the pro reserve standing lesson blocks?

Yes. Give the pro recurring blocks so lessons appear on the schedule instead of surprising the person who walks up expecting an open court.

How do ladder matches work?

Both players are looking at the same live schedule, so whoever confirms first books the slot and the other sees it immediately. No spreadsheet, no reconciling two calendars.

Do players need to install anything?

No. They scan the QR code at the gate and book in the browser. The app exists for people who want reminders, but it is never required.
